Save the Date: Breakthrough Prayer Initiative October 20

June 30, the cabinet sponsored a Breakthrough Prayer Initiative. Ruth and Jim Walls, Pamela Garside-Meyers and Pastor Susan attended this event. It was such a valuable experience that a second, similar event will be offered October 20 from 10 am to 3 pm at West Allis FUMC. Members of our congregation are encouraged to attend as we seek to deepen and widen our prayer life during the upcoming “Year of Prayer.” Sign up in the Great Room for this October 20 event.

Rev. Sue Nilson Kibbey, Director of Missional Church Consultation Initiative (MCCI) in the West Ohio Annual Conference will lead the training event. Sue initially developed the Breakthrough Prayer Initiative for MCCI congregations, but it has become a standalone training event to help equip clergy and their teams to start a prayer movement/initiative across congregations.

Every church recognizes prayer as important. But what happens when a congregation unites to pray collectively and consistently for God to break through in new a miraculous ways? A congregation can launch into the kind of church-wide breakthrough prayer initiative that fuels the atmosphere of possibility; and the entire focus begins to shift from inward to up-and-outward. It’s easier than you think – and the results will make spiritual history right in our own community and beyond. Breakthrough prayer can be incorporated into what already happens in the daily life of our congregation; and you can learn how to utilize it through key aspects of our weekly worship service.
