Love in Action Food and Hygiene Drive
July 19 was the date of our last Love in Action Drive. I was in Kenosha for the drive as the Family Prayer Rock Painting was held at the same time. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it was to see so many of you! While I have known that I have missed all of you terribly, the joy of seeing you on Sunday filled my heart.
It was also a day we broke a record with the number of items collected. 1156 items were collected. Thank you! Thank you also for inviting your neighbors to share in this most important ministry to care for our neighbors. To date 7372 items have been collected and distributed to the Salvation Army and Grace Welcome Center. Thank you to Deb Barrientos, Mission Chair for organizing these Drives and the growing number of those of you who are volunteering to staff the events. This past Sunday Harrold and Vicki Humphrey and Ruth Walls assisted. Pamela Garside-Meyers, Deb and Frank Barrientos provided three vehicles to collect and deliver the items.
Our next Love in Action Drive will be August 2 from 1-3 pm. In conjunction with the drive, we will be hosting a Family Card Making Event to make cards to send and deliver to church members. Come and bring your food and stay a bit for a socially distanced event. All supplies will be provided (along with water and snacks).
