Holy Week Worship is an important time as we take this walk with Jesus in the last days of his life. Be sure to invite someone to come with you or worship online this week!

Palm Sunday - Sun, Apr 2

8a chapel, 10:30a sanctuary and live-streaming begins

Sacrament of Holy Communion

Palms distributed to all.

Children’s Palm Processional. Any and all children are invited to meet at the back of the sanctuary.

Message: “The Gospel of Luke: The Passion,” based on Luke 23.32-43


Maundy Thursday - Thurs, Apr 6

7p sanctuary, live-streaming begins

Maundy means “mandate.” Jesus’ mandate on Maundy Thursday was that we love one another. On this Maundy Thursday we will look at the stories of this Passover celebration for Jesus, the Last Supper, his Garden of Gethsemane prayers and arrest. Chancel Choir sings. Sacrament of Holy Communion


Good Friday - Fri, Apr 7

Noon, sanctuary, live-streaming begins

This multilingual service will tell the story of Good Friday. Worship leaders will include our circuit pastors of the Rev. Peter Lee from Immanuel UMC and the Korean UMC; Rev. Dr. Grace Cajiuat, from Wesley UMC; the Rev. Ebenezer Insor, our District Superintendent; and Rev. Dr. Susan Patterson-Sumwalt, First UMC. This service will be of scripture, prayers and music. Hymns will be accompanied by our organist/pianist Justin Elliott Lowe and special music by the JAM Choir of Immanuel UMC, a violinist from Wesley UMC and the Chancel Choir of First UMC.


Easter Sunday - Sun, Apr 9

No Sunday School at 9:15a

10:30a service featuring the Chancel Choir, brass and timpani led by Dr. Woodrow Hodges and 8a chapel, 10:30a sanctuary and live-streaming begins

accompanied by Justin Elliott Lowe, the Bond Bell Ringers and the traditional singing of the Hallelujah Chorus when worshipers are invited to join the choir for the singing of the Chorus. Music scores will be available.

Special gifts to all children who participate in worship at 8 or 10:30a
