Study Travel to Italy: Journey Details
Twenty-three persons will be leaving November 4 for study travel in Italy. We will depart from Milwaukee, via Chicago to Milan and arrive in the afternoon of November 5. There is a seven hour time difference between Kenosha and Italy. The first group will fly from Rome to Milwaukee November 13. The second group will leave Rome November 17 and return home the same day. Each day, Pastor Susan will post a picture from the day's travels with a short devotion. They will be posted here on the website.
Italy is just a little larger than the state of Arizona. Italy's population was last recorded to be 58 million people and declining in numbers, even with migration. Italy is known for its food, particularly pasta, wine and gelato. It is also known for its coffee, olives and lemons.
Rome was founded in 753 BCE and has a rich history. It is the center of the Roman church; today the Roman Catholic Church in the Vatican. The Vatican is a small country within Rome. Churches, art, and music that has influenced the Christian faith found its roots in Italy.
Those traveling to Italy include: Lori and Bill Brown, Helen Dahl, Amber and Mike Ferda, Kathy Holster, Paul and Sally Huck, Mary Huck, Bruce and Pat Kappeler, Margaret Lucke, Barbara Margenau, Sarah Markunas, Kathy Meyer, Pastor Susan and Bob Patterson-Sumwalt, Revae Reynolds, Carol Rymer, Ruth Walls, Mary Walvoord, Dennis and Kayla West. We will be joined by four others from Alabama. Please pray for our safety, learning and fellowship.
