Through First UMC’s Love in Action group, our congregation has been very generous in providing food and personal items for the Kenosha community. We would like to expand our giving by providing school supplies to local families. School starts September 1.
We will initially work with our day care families. What has been most used in the past are the basics: notebooks, pencils (gold no. 2), pens and crayons. The basics are on sale now! If donations exceed the day care’s needs, we will reach out and donate to Stoker, Southport, and Grant elementary schools.
The United Kenosha School District has a list of needed supplies posted on their website. (There may be changes because students will be at home.) Here is the link:
Cash can also be donated; it will be used to purchase school supplies.
School supplies can be brought to the church parking lot on Sunday August 16th and/or Sunday August 30th, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. These dates coincide with the food drive dates.
Thank you for your continued generosity and let’s keep students and their families in our prayers.
