Update from the Reconciling Committee

As we prepare for an all-church vote on allowing same-gender marriages to be celebrated in our church, the Church Council and Reconciling Team invite you to participate in our discernment and educational process.

Documentary, Discussion, & Pizza

Wednesday, September 13th, 6:30pm-8:30pm @ Church

Monday, September 25th, 6:30pm-8:30pm @ Dianna & Woody Hodgesí home (1689 30th Court, Kenosha)

Sunday, October 1st, 11:45am-1:45pm @ Church

At each of these times and places we will be showing and discussing the documentary "An Act of Love", about the trial that rocked the United Methodist Church, and the minister who risked it all for his gay son. Please sign up at the Welcome Desk so we are sure to have enough pizza for everyone.

Voting Procedure

The official vote to allow same-gender wedding ceremonies in our church will be taken on Sunday, October 15, in the Great Room following each service. As with governmental elections, your name will be checked off a list when you receive a ballot to ensure fairness in voting. If you will not be present that day, there will be an opportunity to vote early. Early voting will begin on October1st and run through the 14th. Stop by the church office and fill out a ballot, or call the office and one will be mailed to you. All ballots MUST be received by the 15th in order to be tallied.
