Historical Burr Oak Tree Removal

Our historic burr oak tree will be removed sometime by the end of November. As many burr oaks in Kenosha County, ours has died this past year after attentive care. We invite you to participate in a contest to guess the age of the tree. In the Great Room on a corner table , take a moment to write your name and a single number that represents the age in years that YOU THINK the oak tree lived. Fold and crease the paper and place it into the glass cylinder through the perforations on the top.

The actual tree ring COUNTS will be made after the final cut of the trunk. More than one person will make the actual tree ring count.

Two or three people will evaluate all the contestant entries for the names with the CLOSEST NUMBER TO THE ACTUAL tree ring count. Winners will be announced the first weekend of December!
